HurtigsTrack Service
Rail Facility Maintenance - Hero

About Us

To keep transit fixed assets available and safe through planned maintenance, documented condition data and night work that reliably finishes before the system reopens.

Who We Are

About Our Company

Hurtigs Track Service maintains fixed transit infrastructure for metro, light rail and commuter operators. Our scope covers stations and the systems inside them, tunnel and trackside assets, and depot facilities: platform screen doors and gate lines, escalators and elevators, ventilation and smoke control, station power distribution, lighting, drainage and pumping, fire detection and suppression, and the equipment rooms housing signalling and communications plant. We plan work around operating reality, which means night possessions, phased station closures and work zones that open to the public every morning. Crews hold current track safety certification, work under protection arrangements agreed with operations control, and close each shift with the asset returned to service and the records completed.

Transit availability is judged in minutes, and the fixed assets that cause delay are rarely the glamorous ones. A failed escalator, a jammed platform door, a flooded sump or a faulty smoke damper will disrupt service as effectively as a rolling stock fault. Hurtigs Track Service was built to manage exactly those assets with the discipline the operating environment demands. We run planned preventive programs against asset registers, respond to faults within contracted response times, trend failure data to find the repeat offenders, and propose renewal where maintenance has stopped being the economical answer. Operators in and beyond use us as an extension of their own engineering organization.

Rail Facility Maintenance - Project

Services

Transit maintenance lives inside a four-hour possession. Our planning, staging and crew certification are built around that window, so work completes and the system opens on time every morning.

Our Process

How We Work

  1. 1

    Asset Verification & Baseline

We validate the asset register in the field, record condition and criticality, note missing or inaccurate records, and establish a documented baseline before the maintenance program is priced or mobilized.

  2. 2

    Program Design & Possession Planning

Task lists, frequencies, standards and durations are built per asset class, then mapped onto available possessions and closures to produce a twelve-month plan that fits the access actually granted.

  3. 3

    Execution Under Protection

Each shift runs under an agreed protection arrangement with pre-briefed crews, staged materials and a defined handback checklist, so assets return to service proven rather than assumed working.

  4. 4

    Reporting, Trending & Renewal Advice

Completion records, defects, response performance and failure trends are reported monthly, with renewal and modification recommendations supported by cost and availability data.

Our Services

What We Do

Fire Detection & Suppression Service
Step 01

Fire Detection & Suppression Service

Scheduled service and testing of station and tunnel fire detection, alarm panels, voice evacuation, sprinkler and other suppression systems, hydrants and extinguishers, with cause-and-effect verification against the fire strategy. Defects are reported with a severity rating and the regulatory implication stated plainly.

Request a Quote
Trackside & Equipment Room Support
Step 02

Trackside & Equipment Room Support

Facility support for signalling, communications and traction equipment rooms, covering environmental control, cleanliness regimes appropriate to electronics, cable management, access control and battery room service, delivered under the access protocols these rooms require and without touching the operational systems they house.

Request a Quote
Escalator & Elevator Servicing
Step 03

Escalator & Elevator Servicing

Routine and overhaul servicing of heavy-duty transit escalators, moving walks and lifts, including step chain and handrail inspection, comb and skirt clearance, brake testing, controller diagnostics, and statutory examination support. High-traffic units get condition monitoring and wear trending rather than calendar-only service intervals.

Request a Quote
Depot & Workshop Facility Maintenance
Step 04

Depot & Workshop Facility Maintenance

Maintenance of depot buildings and plant, including lifting jacks and road systems, wheel lathe facilities, wash plant, compressed air, pit drainage, overhead access platforms and workshop services, scheduled around rolling stock maintenance plans so depot capacity is not lost unnecessarily.

Request a Quote
Platform Screen Door Maintenance
Step 05

Platform Screen Door Maintenance

Planned and corrective maintenance of platform screen and edge door systems, covering drive mechanisms, door leaf alignment, obstruction detection, interlock proving, control system diagnostics and the interface testing with train detection that governs safe opening. Work is scheduled in possessions with full functional proving before the platform returns to passenger service.

Request a Quote
Tunnel Ventilation & Smoke Control
Step 06

Tunnel Ventilation & Smoke Control

Maintenance and functional testing of tunnel ventilation fans, dampers, drives and control systems, including reversibility proving, damper travel verification, vibration monitoring and the integrated smoke control scenarios that emergency plans rely on. Test results are documented against the fire strategy they are meant to satisfy.

Request a Quote
Station Power, Lighting & Low Voltage
Step 07

Station Power, Lighting & Low Voltage

Maintenance of station distribution boards, uninterruptible supplies, standby generation, platform and concourse lighting, emergency lighting with duration testing, and small power systems. Faults are tracked to cause rather than cleared and forgotten, and lamp and driver replacement programs are planned to avoid repeated possession access.

Request a Quote
Drainage, Sump & Pumping Systems
Step 08

Drainage, Sump & Pumping Systems

Inspection and service of tunnel and station drainage, sump pumps, level controls, alarms and discharge arrangements, including desilting, pump overhaul, float and transducer verification and alarm-to-control-room proving. Flood risk assets get a documented resilience review rather than a visual check.

Our Advantages

Why Clients Choose Us

Contracted Response Times

Fault response is governed by defined priorities and response targets with performance reported monthly against them, including the misses and the reason for each.

Current Track Safety Certification

Every deployed worker holds valid certification for the environment they enter, and protection arrangements are agreed with operations control before any access. No exceptions for schedule pressure.

Failure Trending And Repeat Hunting

We trend fault data to find the assets that keep coming back, then propose a fix or a renewal case instead of billing the same corrective visit indefinitely.

Asset Register Driven Programs

Planned maintenance is built from your asset register with tasks, frequencies and standards attached, so compliance can be demonstrated per asset rather than claimed in aggregate.

Public-Facing Work Discipline

Work zones in passenger areas are hoarded, signed and cleaned to a standard appropriate to a public space, and fully cleared before the station reopens each day.

Possession Work Done Properly

Staging, materials and crew briefing happen before the possession opens. Our shifts finish and hand back on time because the preparation is done outside the window, not inside it.

Driven By The Asset Register

Maintenance frequency and scope come from your recorded estate and its condition, so the programme matches the assets you actually have today.

Response Times Resourced

Contracted attendance times are backed by crews and spares actually held, instead of being agreed in a tender and discovered to be unachievable.

Repeat Failures Hunted

Assets failing repeatedly are escalated for root cause investigation, since attending the same escalator every month is a cost rather than a service.

Client Feedback

What Clients Say

They have handed back every possession on time for two years, which our previous provider could not manage. The preparation discipline is the difference: materials and briefing are done before the window opens rather than during it.

The failure trending work identified four assets causing a disproportionate share of our delay minutes and proposed renewal cases we could actually take to the board. That is engineering partnership, not contracting.

FAQ

Possession work is planned and booked at least four weeks ahead.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We maintain the facilities those systems sit in, including environmental control, power, cleanliness, cable management and access, and we support the interfaces where facility assets interact with operational ones. The signalling and train control systems themselves remain with your own or your supplier accredited personnel.

Response follows agreed priority categories with defined response and restoration targets. Many faults can be made safe and isolated immediately with repair scheduled into the next possession, which is usually the better outcome for passengers. Where a fault affects safety systems or station capacity we mobilize to it directly and report progress to your control room.

Most of it, with planning. Routine servicing, inspection and many corrective tasks fit a standard possession when materials, access and briefing are organized beforehand. Larger overhauls, escalator component renewal and some ventilation work need extended possessions or planned closures, which we identify in the annual plan so you can schedule them rather than discover them.

Monthly reporting covers planned maintenance completion by asset, fault volumes and response performance against target, availability for key asset classes such as escalators and lifts, open defects with severity, and failure trends. Misses are reported with reasons rather than smoothed out, which is the only way the data stays useful.

Through certification and protection, not through caution alone. Workers hold current certification for the environment they enter, access is taken under a protection arrangement agreed with your operations control, and briefings record who is present and what the limits of the work zone are. Any uncertainty about protection stops the access, and we expect our crews to use that authority.

Yes, and transition is where most of the risk sits. We start with asset register verification in the field, because inherited registers are routinely incomplete, then document a condition baseline and a catch-up scope for overdue work. That protects both sides from arguments about what condition the assets were in at handover.

The Possession Window Is The Real Constraint

Transit maintenance plans fail on access, not on technique. We look at how to size task durations, stage materials and sequence crews so a four-hour window produces four hours of work.
